National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

National Human Trafficking Awareness Day on January 11th brings attention to a crime that leaves a lasting toll on human life, families, and communities around the world.

National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention

Beginning in 2010, by Presidential Proclamation, each January has been designated National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month.  Following the start of National Slavery and Human Trafficking Prevention Month, with the help of non-government organizations, National Human Trafficking Day began and is observed annually on January 11th

Human trafficking is considered a modern form of slavery. This illegal act involves the use of force, fraud, or coercion to obtain labor or sex. Traffickers use violence, manipulation, or false promises to lure their victims into trafficking situations.

Trafficking victims usually experience physical and/or psychological abuse. They might also endure sexual abuse, food and sleep deprivation, threats to family members, and isolation from the outside world. Family members of the victim may also get threatened. The goal of the day is to bring greater awareness to the crime of sex trafficking. Each year, organizations around the globe provide support to communities, training to volunteers and educational events to increase awareness.

Healing and Transformation

Are you searching for something that will give meaning to your life and to the chaotic world we live in?  Do you long for community even when you are surrounded by family and friends?  Do you experience a sense of sadness even while living a life of  abundance?

Often these impressions are the Soul's way of reminding us of our true and authentic selves. We are spiritual beings having a human experience.

The Shalom Spiritual Center is a ministry that seeks to inform and transform lives by living out the words of our Master Teacher, Jesus, the Anointed One "You shall love the Eternal One your God with everything you have:  all your heart, all your soul, all your strength, and all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself"  (Luke 10:27, The Voice Bible Translation).

We seek to teach Spiritual Principles rather than prescribe what you should believe.  Instead, we invite you to discern how Spirit is speaking and moving in your life.

Here we welcome your questions, your uncertainty, and your doubts, because we believe that one's faith is a journey, not  a destination. We trust that together we can deepen our faith and experience a more intimate relationship in God.

If you are seeking a spiritual home and a community that will guide and nurture you on your spiritual journey, then join us and let our home become your home.

No matter where you are on life's journey, you are welcome  here.
